The issue of insecurity in Nigeria is not just a table talk. I can vividly remember in the late 70s when the Nigerian Police was arming police officers with batons and just hand cuffs, the criminals were less dangerous and armed. But when they started using guns, the Nigerian armed robbers also graduated to guns, now they use sophisticated weapons, so the armed robbers have to equal their man and arm power. So insecurity in Nigeria will continue until some of our governors stop arming and sponsoring thungs.
I quite agree with most of your argument. But economic situation also plays an important part as to why the security has gone bad in Nigeria. For instance, if all those thugs that are employed by politicians had good jobs, there won't be any thugs to be employed to carry out callous politicians' evil ways.
