I am not sure of the current govt's policy, though. Let's hope that it gets its due attention.

I doubt it. It's hopeless.

Nigeria provides free, government-supported education, but attendance is not compulsory at any level, and certain groups, such as nomads and the handicapped, are underserved. The education system consists of six years of primary school, three years of junior secondary school, three years of senior secondary school, and four years of university education leading to a bachelor’s degree

The rate of indiscipline among Nigerian students in Enugu State from 1991 to 1999 has been quite alarming. Students are seen roaming the streets while studies are going on in the classrooms. Some students get involved in all sorts of indiscipline like stealing, fighting, truancy, etc. This problem has incited a public outcry and attracted several comments from concerned individuals. Igbinosa (1996) and Fadairo (1998) expressed the view that Nigeria seems not to have developed an adequate reformatory service and still lacks most of the auxiliary, medical and psychological services needed for dealing with the problem of indiscipline. For their part Obi (1995) and Amene (1996) blamed parents for being blind to the faults of their children, and being overprotective of their children in the school, thereby discouraging the children from being amenable to the teacher's control and discipline.
