I read, with amusement, today's front page story in the daily PUNCH news paper.A group of Lagos state house of assembly members have formed the Obama Nigeria Initiaitive to support the Obama's presidential campaign and to lure naturalized Nigerians living in the united states to vote for Obama. This story is ridiculous for several reasons.

Firstly,if these group of law makers are so inspired by Obama, why not clean up their acts and start engaging in decent and constructive politics? Secondly, how would their newly formed union impact the US presidential election? Do they really consider themselves important enough to influence Nigerians living in the US? Do they realize that many of these US based Nigerians are here because of their corrupt and disastrous policies? As for the newspaper's publishers, refering to Obama as 'Kenyan born' is inaccurate. You can only contest for the United States presidency if you are born in the US. Obama was born in Hawaii, the 50th state in the US.His late father was from Kenya, while his late mother was a white woman from Kansas,United states.

Yes. Nigerian politicians have always admire politics in America, but would not replicate those civil qualities of American politics.

There is one thing I want us to learn about Obama, he is a politician that puts Americans first in his political ambition and not the party's interest and this is where we fail in Nigeria, PDP agenda is the most important and not the people's agenda. When are we going to have leaders that will boldly declare like Barack Obama that "we are all first Nigerians before being a PDP, AC, or ANPP members"
I challenge you to read Obama's blue print for change and come out with such a blue print for change in Nigeria. Let's start building this nation from our communities.
I am an admirer of Obama and I will study him and learn from him and other great men to know how to take Nigeria to a greater height.

How could I say that? I do not know all. I have meaned the other guy in american election. About the nigerians, who knows. I know a lot of beautyful nigerian men. When they all would rule the country, it would less look nice.
About politics I would just have a few great ideas, but they may not listen to me as long I have not enough money to bribe them.
And with my former friend I have made the expirience, that some nigerian man like to see a woman as a stupid and worthless person. Or would any of you guys chase me on nigerian elections, if I would be a candidate???

I would agree that money is an issue in Nigerian politics. Though also an issue in the American politics, it is just more notorius in Nigeria's case.
